Families traditionally do a very detailed cleaning to their homes as the weather gets warmer, but Boston Nissan urges you to remember your car during the spring cleaning season! Here are some tips for spring cleaning your car to keep it fresh:
Take Off Snow Tires
If you’ve been driving around Boston in snow tires, now is a good time to change back to your all-weather or regular tires. Store the winter tires for next season, and make sure the tires are properly inflated and rotated to ensure even wearing. If the tread is worn out, you may need to replace the tires with new ones.
Interior Cleaning
Spend some time removing candy wrappers, coffee cups, kids take out meals, and whatever else has found it’s way into your car. Vacuum the seats and underneath, clean the dashboard, windshield and windows. If your floor mats aren’t coming clean from vacuuming, considering purchasing new ones, and hang a new car deodorizer from your rear view mirror.
Car Fluids
Check the oil and filter, antifreeze and any other car fluids to make sure they aren’t in need of changing. If your car is getting up there in miles, it may also need replacing. Top off any car fluids that don’t need changing to start out fresh.
Exterior Cleaning
Don’t stop with the inside of your car! Hit your local Boston car wash and choose the option that includes the undercarriage wash; or if washing the car yourself make sure to spray a high pressure hose underneath to remove any remaining salt and chemicals from winter roads.
