You can extend the life of your tires by maintaining them properly. Caring for your tires will prevent blowouts and give you a safe ride. Massachusetts Nissan offers the following tips for helping you get more life out of your tires:

Look Before You Drive – before getting in your Nissan to go for a ride, look at the tires. Do they look like they need more air? If you picked up a nail or road debris in your travels, your tires will begin to lose air. If they appear to be under-inflated, stop in to our Nissan dealership for air or make a quick stop to a gas station to inflate them.

Wash the Tires – in addition to looking better, keeping your tires clean will extend their life. Tires collect dirt, debris, and brake dust which can melt to the tires and reduce their efficiency.

Check Tire Pressure Monthly – get in the habit of checking the pressure of your tires at least once a month. You can do it at the gas station in just a couple minutes. Your Nissan car manual will tell you the recommended tire pressure for your type of tires and car.

Rotate Tires Regularly – if you get your tires rotated every 8,000 miles, you won’t have to purchase new tires quite as often. Rotating tires helps to ensure that they wear evenly and it extends their life.

If you have any questions about tire maintenance or need help rotating your tires or removing a nail, you can bring your Nissan to our Massachusetts Nissan dealership for a service appointment.
