New Nissan cars all have one thing in common: when you buy the car new or used from the Coastal Nissan auto dealer, you’ll eventually need to have the tires replaced. But how long until you have to take your new or used car into the shop to replace those tires? At least some of the time, that’s up to you. You can prevent premature wear and tear by doing two simple things—keeping your tires full of air at the recommended pressure (printed on the sidewall of the tire or in your owner’s manual), and by making sure the tires are properly balanced.

An under-inflated tire wears out more quickly—especially the tread along the outer edge. When they are poorly balanced, your car experiences excessive vibrations that wear out the tires faster, too. The key to preventing your tires from wearing out too soon is to have them balanced and rotated every six to ten thousand miles, depending on what your owner’s manual recommends. Stick with your new Nissan car owner’s manual recommendations and you’ll extend the life of your tires and save money. Don’t forget you can always ask your favorite used Nissan dealerships car sales rep what the maintenance schedule should be for routine jobs like tire rotation, oil changes and more.
